Continuing the series of programs on Nasha-Mukt Jammu ore Kashmir for Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan in the Amrit Kaal celebrations for Fit India, the YUVA SOCH YUVA BHARAT (YSYB) IKAI, an Initaitive of the students of GDC Udhampur under the Patronage of Principal Dr. Romesh Kumar Gupta and teacher-mentorship of Dr. Pankaj Sharma, Dr. Ajay Sharma and other staff of the college, presented a dogri Nukkad Play titled AAO CHALCHE NASHE SHAA DUUR. The play was held in the Conference hall of the college.
Speaking on the occasion, the patron, Principal Dr. Romesh Kumar Gupta congratulated the YSYB Team and their mentors for their die-hard efforts for the social cause/s particularly the Bigul against the menace of Drug-abuse, and the way they are spreading it through the street plays and other mediums. He accentuated on making this into a mission and spread through YSYB the message of the college and Govt. of JKUT and India far and wide, for which the college would provide every possible support.
Prior to this the Yuva Saathis of YSYB presented the play with the central theme of Plight of youth on wrong track of taking drugs and intoxicants that leads to death, financial loss and legal proceedings. The acting was so immersing and mesmerising that the Principal, staff and all audience present was spell-bound.The lead roles were played by the YSYB members viz.Vishal Rai Roudhan, Amandeep Singh, Antriksha, Marshal Singh, Rahul, Sunali jamwal, Sumeeta, Shaziya, Aayush, Vishakha, Harpal and Kanav.
Pertinent to mention that as a part of college outreach and extension programs the YUVA SOCH YUVA BHARAT IKAI is doing awareness drives in the areas like Udhampur, Tikri, Pancheri, Jib-Thathi, Garhi and sorroundings very actively.They have also done and have planned to do programmmes in collaboration with Udhampur Municipal Council, JK Public School, Udhampur, GCW Udhampur, Bhaskar Degree College, other schools and colleges as well as Govt. Departments and NGOs of Udhampur.
The programme was attended by a number of staff members and students.Â
