Devika Literary Club, GDC Udhampur, Remembers Amrita Pritam On Her Birthday

Celebrating theIncredible Indian Writersin Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav, under the patronship
of Principal Prof. Subash Chander Sharma, The Devika Literary Club of PG Department of
English, of the College organised a literary meet to commemorate the birth anniversary of
famous Punjabi writer, Amrita Pritam.
The programme started with traditional invocation to Almighty in the form of Ishwar
Vandana.
In the beginning tribute to Iconic Dogri writer Padam Shri Padma Sachdev ji was paid by
observing a silent prayer.
In his message the Patron, appreciated the efforts of the Devika Literary Club to carry on the
torch of literature and humanitarianism as also remember the important writers of India in
the celebration of Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav.
Thereon the convener of Devika Literary Club Dr. Pankaj Sharma, Welcomed the guests
and the presenters and also apprised all about the fortnightly series of the literary club to be
organised as a regular feature.
In the programme the students of PG English viz. Binish Khan, Saniya Bakshi, Rudrika
Khajuria, CharviKalsotra, Reyaz Ahmed and Shubam Bhardwaj presented their views and
perspectives about the works, life, career, achievements of the Poet, writer and Novelist,
Amrita Pritam.
The entire Programme was organised and Coordinated by Ms. Priya Salaria.
The staff of the English Department Viz. Prof. Reena Bhagat, Dr. KawaljeetKour, Prof. Shaji
Khan and Dr. Preeti Sharma were also Present.
