One Week Tree Plantation Pakhwada Celebrated By GDC Udhampur

The Tree Plantation Pakhwada was celebrated by the NCC Unit
of GDC Udhampur from 15-22 July 2020. Throughout the week, the
cadets planted various saplings of herbal plants, decorative plants
and fruit trees along with their families at their homes, they also
prepared posters in the theme to spread awareness on social media
and made motivational videos to highlight the importance of
having tress in the environment. To culminate the event, the
Principal, Prof. Subhash Chander, certain staff members, and few
NCC cadets of the College planted saplings in the College premises
on 23-07-2020, taking all the precautionary measures.
The principal of the college, Prof.Subhash Chander encouraged
students to plant more trees and take care of their plantations
thereafter. He said that every day should be treated as Van
Mahotsav and plants should be grown to keep the environment
green, clean, safe and healthy. He stressed that college students
must be regularly connected with sapling plantation and awareness
programmes which are key factors to encourage citizens to protect
environment by planting trees. Those present on the occasion were
Prof.Romesh Kr. Atri, Prof.Suresh Kr. Dogra, Dr.Ved Kumar,
Prof.Satish Kumar, Prof.Kamal Kishore, Prof.Sanjay Kumar,
Prof.Samosh Kumar, Dr.Kamaldeep Kour, Prof.Rajan Bharti. The
event was coordinated by Prof.Kamal Kishore & Dr. Kamal Deep
Kaur, ANO’s NCC of the college.
