PRESS RELESES EDP TRAINING PROGRAMME BEGINS AT GDC, UDHAMPUR 03-03-2020: A four week training programme for the benefit of Science students begins in the college with an objective to train them for self employment in different fields of their choice and set up their own units under various Govt. schemes. In the training programme, about 25 students of B.Sc. Final year are participating and will be trained in coming days. In the inaugural, worthy Principal of the college Prof. (Dr.) Nutan Kumar Resutra was the chief guest. In his inaugural speech he said, “Inculcation, development, and polishing of entrepreneurial skills among students is needed to establish and successfully run an enterprise and to develop a person as entrepreneur training is important”. Sh. Binoy Kumar, Consultant J&K ITCO elaborated a detailed concept and objective of conducting the training programme for students. He informed that different speakers from various backgrounds shall be a part of this programme and will deliberate on specific technical topics related to the programme. In the first day, Sh. Kuldeep Singh from DIC Udhampur and Sh. Munish Gulati consultant delivered lectures in their respective fields. The proceeding of the programme was coordinated by Prof Gurvinder Raj Verma, Course coordinator & HOD Sericulture. The inaugural function was attended by Dr Udhey Bhanu, Principal, GDC Ramnagar, Dr Pankaj Sharma, Dr Bandana Mazal, Dr Rupali Sharma, Dr Mokshe Sajgotra and Raman Sharma. International Conference on Water Conservation concludes at GDC Udhampur “Fish in Haridwar area of Himalayas have been found with more toxic content than fish in Patna, as per a study conducted. And the cause of this high content has been related with toxic pollutants rising with winds in hot areas and settling down in cool areas,” said Prof. R. K. Sinha, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University. Congratulating the Principal and staff in the valedictory for taking the initiative for the need of the hour International Conference on Water Conservation, the Chief Guest Padamshree Prof. Dr. R.K. Sinha, Vice Chancelor SMVDU, Katra, also known as Dolphin Man of India, remarked that the dire need is to understand the age-old sense and essence of coexistence and sacro-sancting the elements of nature, particularly water as its scarcity and depletion is telling on the disasters unimaginable but Imminent ” the Chief Guest discussed in detail about his work on Dolphins in Ganga basin as also the various conundrum felt and observed andf mitigated through traditional and modern ideas combined. He accentuated on realizing the “Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah” and give respect to nature to be Eco sensitive and eco-friendly and also adopt healthy old ways for respecting and conserving the natural water resources. In the three day Conference many an academicians, scholars and students from across the globe, nation region and the local institutes gathered and deliberated on problems, ways, means and ideas for conservation of water for continuation of life. Around three hundred papers were presented in different parallel sessions. Many a resource persons and famous world personalities related to the field of Water studies as also extraordinary genius viz. Padam Shree Chewang Norphel, the Glacier Man of India, Sh. Sonam Lotus, The Weather Man of J&K, Sh. Sham Sunder Pallival the father of Eco-feminism from village Piplantari, Rajastan. In the Plenary session Sh. Sham Sunder Pallival from Village Piplantary shared his experience how he conceived the idea plantation in memory of daughter and reviving of the water and ecology of the village which has led to his Village taking the task in … Changing the face of the Village from a barren land to an ecological diversity. His Village is now a global role model been adopted by Govt. of Rajasthan and also pursued by many a foreign nations. He put on record that all of us need to commit to our self for a cause and then make it a task of life. The Chief Guest and other Dignitaries also Planted Saplings of Cypres as a token of Green Initiative of the College. In the valedictory the Principal of the College Dr. Nutan Kumar Resutra welcomed the Chief Guest all the dignitaries and talked in length about the conception to the implementation of the idea of the conference. It was followed by Cultural bonauza Viz. Nukkad on Jal Hai to Kal Hai presented by Shajji and other Artists from UT of J&K Information Department, Dogri Dance by Child Artrists of Dhoom Talent Club. Dogri & Bhangra fusion by NCC and NSS students of the College. Post this the dignitaries and organizing volunteers as also delegated were falicited with Mementoes and Certificate. The valedictory was attended by a glory of academicians, intellectuals, scholars, students as also the prominent members of civil Society. An effective vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Rupali Sharma of Department of English. The gathering dispersed after the national anthem.
